Purpose and Features

Tek Connect is designed to connect alumni of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, (KNUST) Kumasi with fellow graduates and the University Community. Our platform provides various features and services to enhance your alumni experience, including:

1. Connection with Other Alumni: Tek Connect enables you to connect with other KNUST alumni and expand your professional and personal network.
2. Mentoring of Students by Alumni: Through Tek Connect, alumni can offer mentorship and guidance to current KNUST students, sharing their experiences and knowledge.
3. Event Notifications: Stay updated with the latest alumni events, reunions, workshops, and other activities through event notifications provided by Tek Connect.
4. Collaboration Channels: Engage in discussions, share ideas, and collaborate with other alumni through specialized channels and groups within the app.
5. Chat: Connect with individual alumni or join group chats to foster communication and build meaningful connections.
6. Spotlight on Alumni and their Achievements: Tek Connect highlights the accomplishments and success stories of KNUST alumni, inspiring and motivating the entire community.

User Responsibilities

1. Eligibility: By using Tek Connect, you confirm that you are a KNUST alumnus, current student, or staff. Misrepresentation of your identity or affiliation is strictly prohibited.
2. Account Creation: To access and utilize the features of Tek Connect, you may need to create an account. Ensure that the information provided during registration is accurate and up to date.
3. Appropriate Conduct: You are responsible for maintaining respectful and professional behavior within Tek Connect. Do not engage in any activities that violate the rights of others, including but not limited to harassment, defamation, or unauthorized sharing of personal information.
4. Content Sharing: Any content you share through Tek Connect, such as messages, posts, or comments, should be respectful, lawful, and relevant to the alumni community. You retain ownership of your content but grant Tek Connect a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, modify, and distribute it within the app.
5. Privacy and Data Protection: Protect your personal information and respect the privacy of other users. Do not disclose sensitive or confidential information without proper authorization.
6. Compliance with Laws: Ensure that your usage of Tek Connect complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to intellectual property rights, data protection, and privacy laws.

Intellectual Property

1. Tek Connect Ownership: Tek Connect and its associated trademarks, logos, and content are the property of the KNUST. You agree not to use, modify, or reproduce any part of Tek Connect without obtaining explicit permission.
2. User Content Ownership: You retain ownership of the content you share through Tek Connect. However, by posting or submitting content, you grant Tek Connect a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute that content within the app.

Limitation of Liability

1. Tek Connect provides the Alumni App and its features on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties or representations regarding the reliability, accuracy, or availability of the app or its content.
2. Tek Connect is not responsible for any direct or indirect damages, including but not limited to loss of data, profits, or reputation, arising from the use or inability to use the app.

Modification and Termination

1. Modification of Terms: Tek Connect reserves the right to modify or update these Terms of Use at any time. We will provide notice of any material changes via the app or through other means.
2. Termination of Access: Tek Connect may terminate or suspend your access to the app if you violate these Terms or engage in any activities that may harm the alumni community or the app's integrity.
